Why are you doing this?
We make a small profit on each item forwarded - pretty much covering our costs with a little left over for beer money. It's really frustrating when you can't buy a particular item, just because you happen to be in a certain country. We use friends in the US/Canada to send us stuff all the time (basically, cheap Apple products :-D) - this seems like a fair payback for their generosity.
How ON EARTH can you do it for $8?
Volume. When we started it was $10. The more we ship each month, the less we have to pay the Royal Mail. Some customers will remember that we got as low as $4 until the Royal Mail increased their prices - it was then $6 for a while until the GBP/USD exchange rate started killing us... damn you, whoever sets the exchange rate!
What happens if my item goes missing?
It's very rare but of course can happen - we rely on honesty as sending everything "tracked" would mean the cost to you, the end user, would be a lot more. If you want to try and rip us off, please - get a life. We are doing this service because lots of people around the world find it really useful. If something genuinely goes missing, you can always take it up with whichever company you bought the item from - most are very helpful in this regard including resending the item free of charge.
What about customs?
We rely on you telling us that it's okay to send your item to your country. For privacy we DO NOT mark what your item actually is on the package.
So why ask what my item is?
We need to know that it will fit in our P.O Box, and we want to know that it's nothing illegal like drugs or guns, as that kind of stuff could get us into serious trouble with the UK police. We also like to know that it's not going to cost us lots of money to ship - our volume discount only works for certain stuff (basically, by size & weight).
Do you open my package before forwarding?
Not usually, no. We just stick a new postage label over the top of the old one, add the correct postage (stamps) and ship it. Unless it's gun shaped, in which case yes, we'd probably open it up to see if it was a gun. If we do have to open anything, we'll put it in brand new Jiffy bag packaging and seal it securely with tape before sending it on.
Can I ask for Tracked forwarding?
We are happy to investigate any requests - it just involves us asking the Royal Mail what the cost is. Please mention it in the 'special requests' box, if you want. But really, missing items are very rare - and unless you need something quicker than the 10 or so working days it usually takes, we'd recommend just having regular forwarding for $8.00. Most times tracking has worked out at $15-20 at least, and doesn't usually get there any quicker.
I have another question? Where is the "contact us page"?
When we had a contact us page we got inundated with silly questions and spam. If you have a serious question please write it in the "special requests" box of the form and we'll do our best to answer it. Remember, it costs you absolutely nothing to fill our form in :-)
